Abstract:
A method for manufacturing an electric power steering apparatus (1), wherein, in a protrusion abutment surface formation step, a protrusion abutment surface (92) is formed by partially machining the inner peripheral surface (39) of a sensor housing (28). Then, in a breather valve temporary assembly step, a breather valve (56) is temporarily assembled to a breather valve mounting hole (57). Subsequently, in a torque sensor insertion step, a torque sensor (19) is inserted into the sensor housing (28) through a sensor-housing-side opening (44). Then, in a breather valve assembly step, the breather valve (56) is assembled to the breather valve mounting hole (57) in an assembly position (110) in the sensor housing (28). And then, in a housing connection step, the sensor housing (28) and a rack-and-pinion gear housing (29) are connected to each other.
