Abstract:
Disclosed is a novel and efficient method for manufacturing a press product in which a flat part (a vane part) and a rod part (a shank part) which is thicker than the flat part are integrated with each other. The method for manufacturing a press product comprises: a forming material preparation step in which a blank material is used as a forming material for a press product (a variable vane); a rod part forging step in which the forming material is pinched by opposing molds and mainly the rod part is pressed from an orthogonal punching direction to form a desired shape; and a rod part trimming step in which unnecessary parts in the forging process are subsequently trimmed. In the rod part forging step which is a progressive process in which the forming material is fed in order with the forming material being connected to part of a strip material, the forming material, which is in a punching orientation where blanks have been taken therefrom in the forming material preparation step, is inverted by 90 degrees with respect to the strip material, the step is carried out in a state in which the orientation of the flat part has been altered to be in the vertical direction, and furthermore the subsequent rod part trimming step is also carried out with the flat part being oriented in the vertical direction.
