Abstract:
 The present invention includes a step for performing a heat treatment at or below the sintering temperature of an R-T-B sintered magnet when a surface of the R-T-B sintered magnet is made to have an RLAl alloy powder (RL: Nd and/or Pr) and an RH compound powder (RH: Dy and/or Tb, the RH compound being one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of an RH fluoride, an RH oxide, and an RH acid fluoride). The RLAl alloy contains 65% by atoms of RL, and the melting point of the RLAl alloy is at or below the heat treatment temperature. The heat treatment is carried out when the RLAl alloy powder and the RH compound powder are present on the surface of the RTB sintered magnet at a mass ratio (RLAl alloy/RH compound) of 96:4 to 5:5.
