Abstract:
A reflector manufacturing method for manufacturing a reflector used in a lighting apparatus having a light emitting tube with a light emitting part and the reflector having a reflecting surface reflecting light from the light emitting part in a specified direction. The method is characterized by comprising a first step for putting a tube formed of the material of the reflector in a molding die after heating and expanding the center part of the tube while applying an internal pressure thereto by an inert gas to form the tube so that a part of the inner surface of the expanded center part can have a shape matching the reflecting surface of the reflector, a second step for cutting the tube at the center part to form reflector members, and a third step for forming reflecting layers on the inner surfaces of the reflector members. By this reflector manufacturing method, the reflector having smooth surface with extremely small surface roughness and high light utilization efficiency can be manufactured at low manufacturing cost.
