Abstract:
A method of manufacturing resin coated aluminum alloy plates is provided which enables the molding of a drawn and ironed can which rarely has a broken wall, and which has a required strength, by carrying out a dry tape complex working including steps of bending and unbending at a die shoulder rounded portion of a small shoulder radius and a subsequent ironing step. This method comprises the steps of homogenization heat treating an aluminum alloy ingot containing 0.5-2.0 wt.% of Mn, 0.2-2.0 wt.% of Mg, 0.05-0.4 wt.% of Si and not more than 0.7 wt.% of Fe as an unavoidable impurity, wherein (Si+Fe) 0.9 wt.%, subjecting the resultant product to hot rolling, cold rolling, continuous annealing, secondary cold rolling and surface treatment, heating an aluminum alloy plate thus obtained, coating both surfaces of the plate with a thermoplastic resin at a predetermined temperature, and quenching the resultant product.
