Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a method of manufacturing a rocker arm equipped with an abrasion resistant sliding member, without increasing the manufacturing cost. By disposing a sliding member 17a in a groove portion 26 provided in a rocker arm, disposing a die 27 on the lower surface side of the sliding member 17a, disposing a constraining member 28 on the upper surface side of the sliding member 17a, and applying pressure from the sides of the rocker arm, with the sliding member 17a constrained by the constraining member 28, disposed on the upper surface side, the die 27, disposed on the lower surface side, and the rocker arm in the groove portion 26, a stem guide 21 which guides a valve stem is formed in such a way that the rocker arm in the groove portion 26 is deformed, sandwiching the sliding member 17a from both sides, and retaining the sliding member 17a.
