Abstract:

A method for manufacturing a rolling bearing unit comprises rotating a roll about the central axis of a hub body through use of a roll driving motor (43) in a state in which a machined surface of the roll is pressed against an other-end surface in an axial direction of a crimping part, and causing a stage (38) to move periodically in reciprocal fashion in a vertical direction by rotationally driving a servo motor (44). The period of the reciprocal motion is regulated by a relationship between the rotation position of the roll about the central axis of the hub body and the state of engagement between recesses which are portions between a plurality of machined teeth formed on the machined surface of the roll and face spline teeth molded by the recesses.
