Abstract:

A method for manufacturing a rubber-like polymer comprises an extrusion drying process in which a rubber-like polymer is extrusion-dried by using an expansion-type extrusion dryer (3) where a die having an opening is disposed at an outlet, and a hot air drying process in which the rubber-like polymer is hot air-dried by using a hot-air dryer (4). The moisture content of the rubber-like polymer is between 6 mass% and 25 mass% at an entrance of the expansion-type extrusion dryer (3). The die flow rate (F/S) obtained by dividing the rubber-like polymer throughput (F) of the expansion-type extrusion dryer (3) by the opening area (S) of the die is between 1 kg/hr/mm2 and 15 kg/hr/mm2. The die shape factor obtained by dividing the total side length of the outlet of the expansion-type extrusion dryer (3) by the opening area is between 1.0 mm-1 and 4.0 mm-1. The moisture content of the rubber-like polymer at the outlet of the expansion-type extrusion dryer (3) is between 20% and 70% of the moisture content of the rubber-like polymer at the entrance of the expansion-type extrusion dryer (3).
