The process comprises the operations of manufacturing a silk-based yarn by means of a carded spinning cycle (4) using combinations of fibres containing at least 50% by weight of silk roving; manufacturing a plain woven fabric (5) with warp and weft threads using said yarns, and subjecting the plain woven fabric to finishing operations (6).
