Provided is a method for manufacturing an electric contact, in which, in particular, an electric contact provided with a carbon fiber bundle can be easily and stably molded into a predetermined shape with good productivity. Specifically provided is a method for manufacturing an electric contact, the method being characterized in that thermal pressing is performed while release sheets (23, 24) are disposed on both surfaces of a prepreg (22) produced by impregnating a carbon fiber bundle (10) with thermosetting resin. As a result, compression can be performed simultaneously with heat hardening, and the prepreg (22) can be appropriately thermally pressed because the release sheets (23, 24) are interposed between the prepreg (22) and a press machine (26), thereby enabling easier and more stable molding into a predetermined shape with better productivity than in the prior art.
