Abstract:
Provided is a method for manufacturing a spacer nut, wherein the machining can be carried out using existing press machining equipment without using an NC lathe; the part procurement cost is low; the yield is high; and the manufacturing cost is low. A method for manufacturing a spacer nut which is arranged between a housing and a substrate arranged in the housing to secure the substrate spaced from the housing at a predetermined distance comprises a first step to form a predetermined length of a projection on a metal plate having a predetermined thickness by pressing; a second step to forge the projection into a shaft portion in the form of a cylinder with a bottom and to form a flange portion on a peripheral edge of a base end of the shaft portion by pressing; a third step to form an opening in a front end of the shaft portion by pressing; a fourth step to press the base end of the shaft portion in the radially inward direction to thereby form a groove in the circumferential direction of the shaft portion; a fifth step to punch the flange portion from the metal plate by pressing, while forming a serration along the outer periphery of the flange portion by pressing; and a sixth step to form a thread groove in an inner peripheral surface of the shaft portion.
