Abstract:
This method serves to manufacture a stereoscopic image formation device 10 through a process in which: a molding base material 21 formed from a first transparent synthetic resin is injection-molded onto one side of a plate body 13, the molding base material 21 comprising triangular cross-sectional protrusions 17 and triangular cross-sectional grooves 16 each having a tilted surface 15 and a vertical surface 14, the grooves 16 and the protrusions 17 being arranged alternately and in parallel; a vertical reflective surface 12 is formed on each vertical surface 14 by metal injection; a first and a second optical control panels 11, 11a thus obtained are placed over one another by fitting the surfaces thereof corresponding to the grooves and protrusions together with a second transparent synthetic resin interposed therebetween; and the resultant is cured and integrated and the stereoscopic image formation device 10 is formed as a result. In this method, the injection molding employs a mold 40 having a space 39 therein corresponding to the shape of the molding base material 21; a first synthetic resin 46 in a molten state is supplied to the space 39 of the mold 40, the temperature of which has been adjusted by being increased to a temperature at which the first synthetic resin 46 remains flowable, and the synthetic resin is caused to run through the edges 45 of the space 39 that forms the cross-sectional triangle of the protrusions 17 in the molding base material 21; the mold 40 is then subjected to rapid cooling; and the difference between refractive indexes η1, η2 of the first and second synthetic resins is set to 0.1 or less.
