Abstract:
Provided in an embodiment of the present invention is a method for manufacturing a three-dimensional model having an internal space communicating with the outside. The manufacturing method involves: (i) a process in which a solidified layer is formed by irradiating predetermined parts of a powder layer with a light beam to solidify the powder at the predetermined parts by sintering or fusion; and (ii) a precursor to the three-dimensional model which has an area not irradiated with the light beam is formed by alternately layering a powder layer and a solidified layer by repeating a process in which a powder layer is newly formed on the obtained solidified layer and predetermined parts of the new powder layer are irradiated with the light beam to form another solidified layer, and the internal space is formed by removing the powder located in the area not irradiated with the light beam. The amount of the powder located in the non-irradiation area being formed is reduced at some stage during the formation of the non-irradiation area.
