Abstract:
This method for manufacturing a TiAl alloy casting material includes: a melting step in which a source material that includes Ti and Al is melted into a molten metal; a deoxidation material adding step in which a deoxidation material that includes Ca is added to one or both of the source material and the molten metal, said deoxidation material being added such that the concentration of Ca in the total mass of the the source material and the molten metal is 0.2 mass% to 1.0 mass%; and a deoxidation step in which, by heating the molten metal that includes the deoxidation material and maintaining the molten state, fumes that include a reaction product of the Ca and oxygen in the molten metal are produced, and the oxygen in the molten metal is removed.
