Abstract:
The invention relates to optical engineering, and more particularly to methods for manufacturing a tinted product for transparent surfaces (inter alia glass), for example for motor vehicles, buildings and structures, with a variable degree of light transmission. The technical result is the possibility of regulating the degree of light transmission and thus improving the optical characteristics of surfaces in accordance with their operating conditions. This result is achieved in that in a method for manufacturing a tinted product which involves connecting transparent sheets, the sheets used are two sheets of polymer or glass with a coloured optically transparent flexible polymer applied in the form of dots to one of the sheets; said sheet is polymerized and overlaid with the other sheet for connection thereto, whereupon the sheets are hermetically sealed about the edge and a coloured optically transparent working fluid is introduced, via a valve, into the space between the sheets in order to regulate the degree of light transmission by means of the introduction or withdrawal of said fluid, wherein when working fluid is introduced, light transmission decreases, and when working fluid is withdrawn, light transmission increases, the working fluid being selected on the condition that when the layers of working fluid and coloured optically transparent flexible polymer are the same thickness, the hue, index of light transmission and index of light refraction thereof are the same or very close in value.
