Abstract:
This method for manufacturing a water-soluble film involves the mixing and dissolving of a water-soluble polymer and water in a multi-screw extruder. As a method for manufacturing a water-soluble film that has no undissolved material and has excellent external appearance, provided is the method for manufacturing a water-soluble film by extruding, from a mouthpiece, a resin composition (Z) obtained by mixing and dissolving a water-soluble polymer (A) and water in a multi-screw extruder. The multi-screw extruder comprises a plurality of temperature-adjustable cylinders and a plurality of screws, each screw being formed as a combination of a plurality of screw elements; each of the screws includes a kneading disk region; and if the kneading disk regions are denoted as K1, K2, K3, …, Km, respectively, in order from the upstream of the multi-screw extruder, the upstream end of K1 is at a position no more than 50% from the upstream in the direction of an effective length (L) of the screw, and the proportion (LKD/L) of the total length (LKD) of the kneading disk regions to the effective length (L) of the screw is at least 0.2.
