Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing waterglass by reacting rice husk or rice husk ash with sodium carbonate, the waterglass having a high content of an amorphous silicon dioxide component. Waterglass, which is manufactured by the method of the present invention, is manufactured using, as a main raw material, rice husk, which is an agricultural by-product, by reaction at low temperature, and therefore, manufacturing costs can be reduced due to lower raw material costs and lower energy consumption as compared to a conventional waterglass manufacturing method using sand as a raw material. In addition, the manufactured waterglass has a higher content of silicon dioxide relative to that of sodium oxide, and thus exhibits excellent quality and has a high amorphous content, and accordingly, has the advantage of a wide range of applications.
