Abstract:
Disclosed in the embodiments of the present invention is a method for measuring an optical fibre dispersion coefficient, used for improving measurement efficiency and reducing measurement costs. The method of the embodiments of the present invention comprises: a network device sends a first optical supervisory channel OSC measurement signal and a second OSC measurement signal, the wavelength of the first OSC measurement signal and the second OSC measurement signal being different; the network device receives the returned first OSC measurement signal and second OSC measurement signal, the first OSC measurement signal and the second OSC measurement signal returning to the network device after being transmitted on a first optical fibre and a second optical fibre, the first optical fibre and the second optical fibre being optical fibres to be measured; the network device determines the delay difference of the received first OSC measurement signal and the second OSC measurement signal; and, on the basis of the delay difference, the network device determines the dispersion coefficient of the optical fibres to be measured. Also provided in the embodiments of the present invention is a network device. The embodiments of the present invention improve measurement efficiency, and also reduce personnel usage and optical fibre loss, thus reducing measurement costs.
