The present invention relates to a method for measuring tossing and turning during sleep, and provides a method for measuring tossing and turning during sleep, the method allowing motion data to be recorded by set time period and tossing and turning frequency to be calculated using a magnitude value and a variance value of the motion data if a user moves on a mattress of a bed and the like during sleep, so that the determination reliability of whether tossing and turning occurs and tossing and turning frequency can be increased, and tossing and turning of the user can be conveniently measured by simply putting a portable device such as a smartphone of the user on the mattress of the bed and the like without a separate device being provided on the mattress of the bed or being worn.
