Abstract:
A method and a system for non-destructively measuring the yield strength of a metal member by using magnetic incremental permeability are disclosed. A quasi-static excitation magnetic field is generated using an electromagnet and applied to enter and exit through two points of a metal material to be measured, and at the same time, a small alternating magnetic field is generated through an excitation coil and applied to the metal material to be measured. The intensity of the quasi-static excitation magnetic field applied to the inside of the metal material to be measured is measured using a Hall sensor. The magnetic field induced from the magnetized metal material to be measured is detected using a sensing coil. Reversible magnetic permeability (MIP) of the metal material to be measured is obtained using an output signal of the Hall sensor and a detection signal of the sensing coil. The particle size of the metal material to be measured is obtained from the correlation between the obtained reversible magnetic permeability and the particle size of the metal material to be measured, and the yield strength of the metal material to be measured is calculated using the obtained particle size. The particle size and yield strength of the metal material to be measured can be measured non-destructively.
