Abstract:
A method of molding metal powder into a bar form, comprising the step of compression molding in a vertical compression type metal mold into a bar material with large length as compared with diameter, such as a drill, an end mill, a tap, etc., among molding means for superfine metal powder of 0.5 to 10 μm for use in sintered hard alloys, characterized in that in the step, the superfine metal powder is mixed, granulated with the use of a solid binder, such as paraffin, into coarse grains, and that the thus obtained primary coarse grains on the surface thereof are coated with, as a second phase, a liquid which induces no chemical dissolution or chemical reaction with the solid binder, has low viscosity and does not contain oxygen, and thereafter subjected to vertical compression in a metal mold.
