A method of molding a resin foamed item capable of remarkably increasing workability for mold release since the resin foamed item such as a seat pad can be released from a molding die by sliding along the internal surface of the molding die and the molding die for the method. In the molding die, locking projections (20) and (30) and a pocket part (40) are installed on the internal surface of the core (3) of the molding die, the face (10a) of an integral molding member (10) is opposed to the core (3), overlapped with the surface of the core (3) so that the projections (20) and (30) come into large hole parts (12) and (12), and slid to lead the projections (20) and (30) into narrow width parts (13) and wide width parts (14) to hold the integral molding member (10) on the core (3). The end part of the integral molding member (10) is fitted to the pocket part (40). In mold-releasing, the resin foamed item is slid in the direction reverse to the sliding direction.
