The invention relates to a method for monitoring drive engines, particularly for aircraft or the like, particularly in the start-up phase, wherein a detection of abnormal start-up behaviour, particularly elevated torque, is provided, or the drive units are held at a resting rotational speed during standby and are not completely stopped, and/or warning signs are provided during the standby.
