Abstract:
A cylindrical protrusion section (14, 54, 74) is provided around a mounting opening (13, 53, 73) in a base section (11, 51, 71) of a male snap button (10, 50) or a female snap button (70). When mounting the male snap button (10, 50) or the female snap button (70) to cloth (1) by means of a button mounting member (20), a post section (22) of the button mounting member (20) is caused to penetrate through the cloth (1) and then to pass through the mounting opening (13, 53, 73) of the male snap button (10, 50) or the female snap button (70), and after that the post section (22) is staked by an upper die (30, 60, 80). In the staking operation, the protrusion section (14, 54, 74) of the male snap button (10, 50) or the female snap button (70) is crushed between the post section (22) and the base section (11, 51, 71), and this causes a part of the load applied to the male snap button (10, 50) or the female snap button (70) to be absorbed by the deformation of the protrusion section (14, 54, 74).
