Title:
METHOD FOR RECOVERY/REUSE OF N-OXYL COMPOUND
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/116794
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In the oxidation of a cellulose raw material with an oxidizing agent in the presence of an N-oxyl compound and a bromide and/or an iodide, a liquid waste produced in the oxidation is desalted by means of electrophoresis until the inorganic salt concentration is reduced to less than 0.4%, thereby recovering the N-oxyl compound contained in the liquid waste in a concentrated form. The recovered N-oxyl compound can be reused in the oxidation of the cellulose raw material. It is preferred that the liquid waste be reduced or treated with an ion exchange resin prior to the electrophoresis.
