Abstract:
It is intended to provide a method and a system for separating an industrially applicable
plant outer bark fiber and plant stem core of kenaf or the like into a plant outer
bark fiber and plant stem core at a high speed without using heat or chemicals and
only with water and physical action by mechanical processing. The plant outer
bark fiber and the plant stem core are obtained from the plant stem by putting the
plant stem into a plant stem-grinding device equipped with a grinding roller
thereby to peel the plant outer bark from the plant stem, separating the plant
outer bark and the plant stem core using a difference in the specific gravities of
the plant outer bark and the plant stem core, sending only the plant outer bark to
a plant outer bark rolling device, rolling the plant outer bark with a pressure roller
to form a sheet-like shape and sending it to a plant outer bark fiber fibrillating and
washing device, and washing out plant components other than the plant outer bark
fiber by high-pressure water jetting thereby to obtain only the plant outer bark
fiber.
