Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for obtaining treated dolomite for use as a remediation agent for the neutralisation and adsorption treatment of mining and metallurgical effluents and mine water, said method consisting of the following steps: reducing the dolomite particle size (with a purity percentage of between 80 and 99.9 %) by means of primary and secondary crushing; wet-grinding the dolomite mineral; decanting the homogeneous pulp; drying the dolomite pulp; analysing the ground dolomite sample, by means of granulometry, using Tyler series (ASTM) meshes corresponding to meshes having a particle size range from -200 to -325, corresponding to particle sizes of 45 micrometres and 37 micrometres respectively; performing a roasting (calcination) treatment in the temperature range of 900°C - 1100°C, in order to break down the very pure dolomite into calcium carbonate, calcium oxide and magnesium oxide compounds.
