Abstract:
A method performed by a DNS server to provide tunneling information. The method includes the DNS server receiving a DNS query for a TUNNEL RR corresponding to a DNS name. The TUNNEL RR includes the tunneling information used to encapsulate a packet. The DNS server determines whether data corresponding to the DNS name includes the TUNNEL RR in response to receiving the DNS query. The DNS server transmits a DNS response that includes the TUNNEL RR when the data corresponding to the DNS name includes the TUNNEL RR.
