Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for operating an electric motor (2), which can be connected to a power source (5) by means of a switching device (3) and is connected in parallel to a freewheel device (9), wherein the switching device (3) is triggered with a defined duty ratio to set a required effective operating voltage of the electric motor (2) inside each working cycle, such that each working cycle in at least one operating mode is composed of an on-time period and a freewheel-time period. The invention provides that the freewheel device (9) has a freewheel transistor (10) and a freewheel diode (11) connected thereto in parallel and arranged in the blocking direction to the power source (5) and that the freewheel transistor (10) is triggered in the freewheel-time period with the following steps: determining the freewheel voltage dropping across the electric motor (2); and switching the freewheel transistor (10) for a defined switching period if the freewheel voltage is not zero, particularly less than zero. The invention further relates to an electric motor device (1).
