Title:
METHOD FOR OPERATING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE ACCORDING TO THE YARIMOV'S CYCLE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2000/042304
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention may be used in internal combustion engines for both mobile or stationary applications. In order to increase the performance index, to reduce the noise level upon the exhaust of used gases and to improve ecological compatibility, this method for operating an internal combustion engine involves converting the thermo-chemical energy of the fuel into a mechanical one within a limited volume and according to repetitive processes. The expansion and/or compression process takes place in a non-linear working volume which is asymmetrical relative to half the stroke of the working organ and which is modified based on the level dependence relative to the argument and according to the equation V = a + b (x + c)?m¿ where V is the working volume, x is the argument, a, b and c are real numbers and m is the level index selected according to the formulae 0 < m < 1 and 1 < m < 2. The method for operating an internal combustion engine according to the inventor's cycle represents the most efficient variant for converting thermo-chemical energy into mechanical energy.
