Abstract:
A method of operating a movable hearth furnace comprising a layer of a powdery solid reducing material containing oxygen as the lowest layer on a movable hearth, and a layer formed on the lowest layer and made of mixed powder of oxide powder containing a powdery iron ore as the principal component and a powdery solid reducing material. Reducing operation is conducted in the furnace.
