Abstract:
When extracting a desired substance from an aqueous solution in which the substance is dissolved, using an organic solvent, a mixer/settler type of extractor is used as the extractor, the solvent is dispersed within the mixer, the extractor is operated, and part of the water phase extracted from the settler is again returned to the mixer, thereby holding the organic solvent phase stable as a dispersion phase within the mixer.
