Abstract:
A method in which a capillary chip comprising a layer of a polymer composition and having a capillary formed in the surface or an inner part of the polymer composition layer is used to pass a fluid through the capillary. The capillary has a flow control part, which comprises consecutive valve parts. Each valve part comes into a closed state with a volume increase of the polymer composition to stop fluid passing through the capillary, and comes into an open state with a volume decrease of the polymer composition to permit fluid passing through the capillary. The method of fluid passing includes a step (a) in which, in the flow control part, the temperature of the polymer composition is changed to successively switch the valve parts from the open state to the closed state in the direction of passing and thereby pass a fluid through the capillary.
