Abstract:
This invention provides a method for polishing a link chain having a fatigue strength
of not less than 230 N/mm2 by simply applying mechanical vibration.
There is also provided a link chain having a fatigue strength of not less than 230
N/mm2 characterized by surface polishing in such a manner that a link
chain of a low-carbon alloy steel before annealing/tempering or after annealing/tempering
was placed on a polishing tank in a vibration polishing machine, a surface polishing
was carried out in a stationary or transfer state by vibration polishing to bring
the height of protrusions and burrs at the boundary between the parallel part
and the curved part in individual links in the link chain to not more than 60 μm,
preferably not more than 30 μm. A method for manufacturing the link chain
is also provided.
