Abstract:
Disclosed by an embodiment of the present application are a method for positioning a remote radio unit (RRU) and a relevant device thereof, which are used for positioning an RRU by means of an existing network element equipment without adding external and internal positioning equipment to the RRU, thus reducing the costs of positioning an RRU. The method according to the embodiment of the present application comprises: a first RRU receiving a first reference signal that is sent by a second RRU, the first RRU being an RRU to be positioned, and the second RRU being an RRU having a known position; the first RRU determining a first time delay value according to the first reference signal; the first RRU reporting the first time delay value to an upper-layer network element such that the upper-layer network element resolves the position according to the first time delay value to obtain position information of the first RRU.
