Abstract:
A method for practicing an exothermic chemical reaction in a reaction apparatus containing n reactors (n $m(G) 3), characterized in that a reactant is independently fed to m first step reactors (n > m $m(G) 2) of n reactors, and mixtures of reactants and reaction products from the m first reactors are then fed to second step or subsequent step reactors without passing through a first step reactor. In the practice of an exothermic chemical reaction, particularly of hydroformylation, in a reaction apparatus using three or more reactors, this method can be used for improving the temperature control inside reactors and decreasing pressure differences among all reactors.
