Abstract:
A method for producing 1,3-propanediol and 2,3-butanediol. The method includes steps as follows: 1) Candida krusei or Hansenula Arabitolgens Fang are inoculated into the fermenting medium in which coarse starch hydrolyzed liquid is the carbon resource. The yeast cells are cultured on the aerobic condition until glucose-consuming-rate is reduced. And then they are fermented anaerobically until glucose concentration is between 5 and 10 g/L. The fermenting liquid is filtered the yeast cells for obtaining the glycerin fermenting fluid. 2)Klebsiella pneumoniae, Clostridium butyricum, or Clostridium pasteurianum are inoculated into the fermenting medium in which glycerin fermenting fluid obtained from step 1) is the carbon resource. The bacteria are fermented anaerobically 30-32 hrs. And they are fermented aerobically when the production of 1,3-propanediol is reduced obviously. Then the fermentation is stopped until the concentration of glycerol is reduced to a level below 10g/L, and finally 1,3-propanediol and 2,3-butanediol are obtained.
