Abstract:
A method for preparing an aromatic carbonic acid diester of the present invention comprises the steps of: performing a transesterification reaction of an aliphatic carbonic acid diester and an aromatic alcohol in the presence of an organic metal catalyst to prepare a reaction mixture; separating, from the reaction mixture, the aromatic carbonic acid diester and a carbonate reaction byproduct containing the organic metal catalyst; mixing a polar solvent with the carbonate reaction byproduct containing the organic metal catalyst to prepare a first reaction product in which the byproduct is dissolved; adding a non-polar solvent to the first reaction product to precipitate the organic metal catalyst; and recovering the precipitated organic metal catalyst and introducing the precipitated organic metal catalyst into the transesterification reaction.
