Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for preparing a cathode active material precursor for a lithium secondary battery, a cathode active material precursor for a lithium secondary battery prepared thereby, and a cathode active material for a lithium secondary battery containing the same. According to the present invention, the method for preparing a cathode active material precursor for a lithium secondary battery, which has excellent thermal stability due to a metal composition having a continuous concentration gradient from the interface at which a core and an outer shell make contact to an active material surface, controls the concentration of a concentration gradient portion and a shell portion in a precursor, thereby obtaining a desired concentration of a transition metal in a shell.
