Abstract:
Provided are a method for preparing a cathode active material, a positive electrode comprising a cathode active material prepared thereby, and a lithium secondary battery comprising the same. The method comprises: a step of mixing a lithium compound, a transition metal precursor and a metal oxide additive to prepare a mixture; and a calcination step of calcining the mixture to form a lithium transition metal oxide, wherein the calcination step is carried out through temperature retention intervals of two stages, with the temperature of the first temperature retention interval being 400 to 650℃ and the temperature of the second temperature retention interval being 700 to 900℃.
