Title:
METHOD FOR PREPARING DIALKYL CARBONATE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/144856
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for preparing dialkyl carbonate, which enables the preparation of a dialkyl carbonate, such as dimethyl carbonate, at a higher yield rate in an eco-friendly and economically advantageous manner while reducing the generation of by-products. The method for preparing dialkyl carbonate comprises a step of reacting urea, alkyl carbamate having 1 to 3 carbon atoms or a mixture thereof, and a monovalent alcohol having 1 to 3 carbon atoms in the presence of a room-temperature ionic liquid and a catalyst comprising salts of transition metals or rare-earth metals.
