Abstract:
The present invention relates to the technical field of functional fine chemicals, and provides a method of preparing an environmentally friendly emulsifier of alkyl ketene dimers. The method comprises: placing sorbitan trioleate and a catalyst in a stainless steel reactor, heating to 120˚C, and performing dehydration; then increasing the temperature of the materials to 150˚C, introducing ethylene oxide to react in a condition where the reaction system has a temperature of 160-180˚C; after introducing ethylene oxide, maintaining the temperature for 30 minutes; and then introducing cooling water to lower the temperature of the mixture system to 80˚C, adding acetic acid to perform neutralization reaction while maintaining the temperature, and then lowering the temperature and discharging, so as to obtain an emulsifier of alkyl ketene dimers. The present invention provides a simple production process, and uses renewable sorbitan trioleate. Furthermore, the resulting product has superior emulsification performance and excellent biodegradability, and accordingly is environmentally friendly.
