Abstract:
A method for preparing furfural by catalysis of an ionic liquid. The method comprises: mixing a carbohydrate, a composite solvent, and a Lewis/Brønsted acid bifunctional ionic liquid catalyst; and performing catalytic reaction on the mixture at 120-200°C for 60-300 min to synthesize furfural. The carbohydrate is monosaccharide, disaccharide, polysaccharide or biomass rich in pentose monomers; the composite solvent is composed of water and a ketone organic solvent; and the Lewis/Brønsted acid bifunctional ionic liquid catalyst is a compound composed of metal halide anions having Lewis acidity and imidazolyl cations having Brønsted acidity.
