Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for preparing a high-strength and high-modulus polyethylene fiber. The method comprises: blending a polyethylene raw material having a weight-average molecular weight of 0.6-1.2 million obtained by the polymerization of a single active center catalyst and an auxiliary agent; extruding the blend via a screw extruder as unstretched polyethylene thick filaments; after the unstretched thick filaments are cooled, same entering a hot cabinet for a high-temperature multistage stretching; and rolling a polyethylene fiber, which has been subjected to multistage stretching, to obtain a polyethylene fiber having a tensile strength of 25 cN/dtex or more and a tensile modulus of 900 cN/dtex or more. In contrast to the prior art, the preparation method has a simple production process flow, is environmentally friendly and energy-saving, and has a high safety factor, and a low production cost.
