Abstract:
Provided is a method for preparing metallurgical-level aluminum oxide by treating bayer process-based red mud by using a one-step alkali heat process of andradite. The method comprises the following steps: S1, mixing red mud, sodium ferrite or calcium ferrite, active lime and circulating mother liquid to prepare raw material mineral pulp; S2, performing alkaline heat dissolving-out reaction on the raw material mineral pulp, so as to obtain dissolved-out mineral pulp; S3, diluting the dissolved-out mineral pulp, and allowing the diluted liquid to experience liquid-solid separation, so as to obtain dissolved-out slag and dissolved-out liquid; S4, introducing carbon dioxide gas into the dissolved-out liquid, and carrying carbon decomposition, so as to obtain crude aluminum hydroxide and a carbonation-decomposed mother liquid; S5, treating the crude aluminum hydroxide by using a bayer process, so as to obtain the metallurgical-level aluminum oxide; and S6, causticizing the carbonation-decomposed mother liquid by using lime milk, obtaining a high-molecular-ratio sodium aluminate solution with, and adjusting into a circulating mother liquid for being dissolved out. In the method, the aluminum oxide in the red mud is recycled, the alkaline content in the red mud is reduced, the solid wastes are recycled, and the green utilization effect of resources is achieved.
