Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for preparing a milk thistle extract having increased silymarin bioavailability. The milk thistle extract, produced from a process comprising (a) a step for carrying out a reaction by adding one or more enzymes selected from among polygalacturonase, cellulase, beta-glucanase, and xylanase to a milk thistle seed shell and (b) a step for extracting by adding ethanol as a solvent after step (a), is easily absorbed, and thus has excellent silymarin bioavailability.
