The present invention relates to a method for preparing a polyarylene ether copolymer comprising isohexide units and a polyarylene ether copolymer prepared thereby and, more specifically, to an ultra-high molecular weight polyarylene ether copolymer comprising isohexide units by comprising a procedure of adding a crown ether-based compound, and to a method for preparing a polyarylene ether copolymer prepared therefrom.
