Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for preparing polyarylene sulfide having superior thermal stability and lower content of iodine, and more particularly, to a method for preparing polyarylene sulfide, comprising a step of polymerizing a composition containing a diiodo aromatic compound, a sulfur compound and a polymerization retarder. The method effectively lowers the content of iodine in the polyarylene sulfide and thus prevents post-process equipment from being corroded and improves physical properties, such as thermal stability of polyarylene sulfide, and therefore can be valuably applied to the industry concerning manufacture of polyarylene sulfide.
