Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for preparing polymethacrylimide foam using one-step-feeding gelation, comprising the following steps: (1) evenly mixing raw materials, adding a gelation enhancer, dispersing well, injecting into a sealed planar mold, and performing polymerization in a 38-50°C water bath; (2) when the raw materials react to reach a uniform gel state, lowering the polymerization temperature by 2-10°C, and maintaining the temperature to release reaction heat; (3) when the raw materials are fully converted into solid form, raising the temperature in steps to 80-120°C, so as to obtain a prepolymerized polymethacrylimide plate; (4) heating and foaming the prepolymerized polymethacrylimide plate at 140-230°C to obtain the polymethacrylimide foam. The polymethacrylimide foam prepared by the present invention significantly improves properties such as density, heat deflection temperature, tensile strength, and compressive strength.
