Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to efficiently provide a method for preparing polyvinylidene fluoride. The additional purpose of the present invention is to provide polyvinylidene fluoride prepared by the method and a fluorine-based binder, comprising the polyvinylidene fluoride, for an electrode. To achieve the purposes, the present invention provides a method for preparing polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), the method comprising the steps of: mixing vinylidene fluoride (VDF) and, as a polymerization initiator, perfluoro propionyl peroxide to obtain a mixture; and raising the temperature of the mixture to perform a polymerization reaction. In addition, the present invention provides polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) prepared by the method and having an average particle size of 50 to 800 um. According to the present invention, polyvinylidene fluoride of a desired molecular weight can be synthesized with high yield while synthesized under relatively mild conditions compared with existing preparation methods, so that the polyvinylidene fluoride thus prepared has a uniform molecular weight and therefore can ensure the uniformity of product quality when used as a binder for an electrode.
